Basic Hardware Setup

Dongle  Your copy of Checkout Professional comes with a software protection device called a Dongle. Checkout Professional will not fully function without this device being attached to a point of sale computer. The computer that this device is attached to should be the first computer normally used.

Cash Drawer  Checkout Professional was designed to use cash drawers driven by the receipt printer. Future updates will support serial and USB interfaces.

Receipt Printer  Checkout Professional was designed for use with the Epson, Citizen, Star, and Ithaca line of receipt printers. Future updates will include other makes of receipt printers.

Pole Display  Checkout Professional was designed for use with Epson and Ultimate Technology OPOS pole display, or any other pole display capable of emulating the OPOS character set.

Bar Code Scanner  Checkout Professional was designed for use with a keyboard wedge style bar code scanner. PLEASE NOTE: SOME OLDER MODELS OF BAR CODE SCANNERS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO READ THE LABEL GENERATED BY CHECKOUT PROFESSIONAL. PLEASE BE SURE THAT THE BAR CODE SCANNER YOU PURCHASE IS CAPABLE OF READING/ DECODING CODE 39.
